Established in 2002, Bodywork-Pilates is the longest established, fully equipped
Pilates studio in the northwest. Based within the Chester Enterprise Centre, Hoole,
we offer a calm matwork studio with wood laminate floor and soft lighting, equipped with:

and the city's only fully equipped apparatus studio with:

We can also incorporate more traditional personal training with the use of treadmill,
spin cycle and rowing machine.

Pilates matwork is done without the use of equipment, using the body's own
weight for  resistance. It is a system of movement that educates the muscles, particularly those of the deep abdominals, back, diaphram and pelvic floor, to
support the body efficiently and effectively. Pilates is based around 8 principles;
Concentration, Breathing, Centering, Control, Precision, Movement,
Isolation and Routine.
The Pilates method of exercise will address postural imbalances by focusing on
the deepest  layer of abdominal muscles to support the spine, making you feel
taller and appear trimmer.  Because the muscles are worked systematically, the exercises will not build bulk, only long, lean  and strong muscles with increased
flexibility and joint mobility. The original Pilates programme consisted of only
34 moves. They were performed without variation in a continuous sequence.
Many of these original movements are now considered to be inappropriate and unsuitable for most people and so at Bodywork-Pilates we encourage and offer modifications to suit the individual. Therefore, anyone can benefit from Pilates- pregnant women, back pain sufferers and elite sports people. There are no age or fitness barriers. And because of the strong emphasis of mind and body connection,
you will feel calmer, more focused and have a much greater awareness of the way
your body acts and reacts to the pressures of modern life.

Bodywork-Pilates has the only fully equipped Reformer studio in the area with 
Reformers, Pilates Springboard, Spine Correctors and associated small equipment.
The Pilates Reformer workout will work the body against spring tension, body weight
and gravity to provide a fully  balanced, complete body workout where resistance is
created on every phase of the move. Done on a personal training basis or in small
group classes with a qualified equipment instructor.

How To Find Us.

Bodywork-Pilates is situated at the Chester Enterprise Centre, Hoole.
Exit M53 at J12, toward Chester city centre.
Travel along Hoole Road until you get to the Saunders Honda car showroom on the right hand side
You will rise as you begin to cross the railway bridge
Just before the apex of the bridge, turn left - Chester Enterprise Centre is clearly signed.
Follow the road around the building.
Bodywork-Pilates is situated at the far side of the building with its own independant access. You do not need to
enter the main body of the building. There is adequate parking all around the building with excellant security lighting.

Please note - Satnav will direct you to Lightfoot Street. This is a adjacent street with no access to the Enterprise Centre. Please follow the above directions for accuracy.
